Celebrate Our 5th Anniversary With Us
On Monday, November 23, 2026, the Society will celebrate five years of commitment with a prestigious banquet in the ballroom of the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa, under the honorary presidency of Her Honour the Honourable Edith Dumont.
The Crown Society of Canada
We are a community of Canadians from all walks of life, united by pride in our constitutional monarchy and love of our institutions. Here, we celebrate our history, protect our heritage and build together a future worthy of what we have inherited. Whether you already know the Crown or are discovering it for the first time, you are welcome among us.
Five Years of Commitment
Since its founding, the Society has brought volunteers together, contributed to public dialogue and recognized service to the Crown. Here are some milestones from its first five years and the new opportunities opening in 2026.
The Beginnings of an Engaged Community
Founded in Québec City in 2021, the Crown Society of Canada set out to promote a better understanding of Canada’s constitutional monarchy and bring together those committed to preserving its heritage. The vice-regal patronage of the Honourable Michel Doyon supported its early development. The growth of the Quebec branch and the Society’s first national media appearances laid the foundations for a volunteer organization dedicated to education, dialogue and service.
A Presence at the Heart of a Historic Year
Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, followed by her death and State Funeral, brought the Crown to the forefront of public attention. Present in London during the Jubilee, the Society also contributed to media coverage and public education surrounding these events. Its contributions helped explain the sovereign’s place in Canadian history and the continuity of our institutions as Charles III acceded to the throne. This historic year gave particular visibility to the Society’s educational mission.
The Coronation and New Forms of Recognition
On May 6, 2023, a Society delegation travelled to London for the Coronation of Charles III. The annual report records live French-language interviews on Radio-Canada television and radio. Meanwhile, the Society created its Emeritus membership class to recognize service to the Crown, welcoming 45 members that year. It also introduced its Special Commemorative Medal, a distinction awarded by the organization to honour commitment and service.
Honouring Service and Strengthening Institutional Ties
The Society developed its national program recognizing vice-regal representatives at the end of their terms. A tribute dinner at the Cercle de la Garnison de Québec honoured the contributions of the Honourable Michel Doyon and his outgoing Private Secretary, Jean-François Provençal. Dedicated volunteers were also recognized with the Special Commemorative Medal. In August, a partnership with the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec made the Society a partner in the King Charles III Coronation Medal program.
Explaining the Crown and Continuing to Recognize Service
Charles III’s official visit to Canada and the opening of Parliament provided another opportunity to explain the sovereign’s constitutional role. The Society continued its public education surrounding the visit, alongside its educational and recognition activities. Its publications also helped members and the public deepen their understanding of our institutions. This continuity connected major events in the news with a mission carried out throughout the year.
Five Years of Commitment and a Future to Build
On September 2, 2026, the Society officially entered into a partnership with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Canada. This collaboration opens a new chapter focused on young people’s leadership, confidence, resilience and community engagement. The fifth anniversary year also offers an opportunity to reflect on the journey since 2021. The banquet scheduled for November 23 at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa will bring participants together to celebrate this commitment and look to the future.
